Our dentist volunteering opportunities abroad for qualified dentists are provided in a hospital in Accra, Ghana. We also have dental clinic volunteer opportunities, set in either an urban healthcare centre close to the main hospital, as well as in a rural healthcare center in Senya Baku, close to the coast.
Depending on the number of volunteer dental professionals at the time of your placement, our partners organise village outreaches. As a volunteer for dental work abroad, you are helping to meet the needs of local people in a country where most have little access to a dentist outside of the 2 main cities. In Ghana, oral health is of critical concern. Few resources target prevention, and dental treatment is inaccessible for most people through a lack of access to dentists, and it being unaffordable for many people.
Dental problems therefore all too often become severe, before people consider seeking help.
In Ghana, our volunteer dentists will be locally licenced, and welcomed by the Ghanian health care professionals.

Qualified dentists volunteering with us in Ghana join a main hospital in western Accra, the city where the majority of Ghana’s dental professionals are located. Your dentist volunteering will have a significant impact on the dental care of patients, as well as in supporting the oral health education.
You will be licenced to work by the hospital for 12 weeks.
Depending on the number of dental volunteers, our local partners arrange village outreaches, drawing many who have little access to dental care due to finances and location.
You can work a 4-5 day week, giving you time to explore as well.
