Thinking Globally Will Help Make a Better Tomorrow

Each person joining does so a unique experience of the world, and their own expectations of what they want from, and want to give whilst volunteering. We work with you to achieve that, whilst appreciating your commitment to the purpose you have chosen to join us for. On completion, our volunteers say that what they experience when they join us far exceeds their expectations.

But we want more than that, and we hope you do to, We want the world to work for everyone, and we believe that being informed is key to that. Knowledge and understanding comes through having the opportunity to interact with local people, learn new skills yourself, (from Sri Lankan cooking, to managing a hostel, to TEFL teaching, or doing PhD research supported by us), and having access to written information.

Wherever I am in the world, I always enjoy reading the local news - highlight ways of interpreting the events differently to the ways that other cultures may interpret similar things. Therefore, links to local newspapers can also be found. None of the links to these websites represent an endorsement, or acceptance by GAFV of the views propounded in them.

The website links below, focusing on global data, are grouped by theme. Many more can be added, and
