Visas for Volunteers in Kenya:

Volunteers may participate on our projects in Kenya for up to 180 days on Tourist visas. Anyone wishing to stay beyond that must leave the East African Region bloc, and reapply for a 90 day Tourist visa.

Electives:

Those wishing to do Electives in Kenya must provide documented evidence of enrolment on relevant courses.

Medical│Nursing│Dentistry Licenced Practice:

Those qualified to practice medicine, nursing, or dentistry and wishing to do so on our placements in Kenya must register in person with the relevant council prior to the commencement of their placement.

This registration is done in Nairobi, and takes up to 7 working days, but may be completed in 5. In addition to the placement fee, there is a council registration fee of €50. Once registered and in receipt of the relevant authorization letters, you will be taken to your placement by our partners.

Our partners in Kenya will support you throughout, but you will need to budget for a stay in Nairobi of up to 5-10 working days

Police Clearance Checks:

All people joining our programs must provide a criminal record check from your passport issuing country, and any country you have been residing in over 6 months prior to joining us,  

Airport Pickup and Arrival in Kenya:

Pick-up is included in the price you pay. Additional fees may apply for those registering with the medical council

Depending on your flight's arrival time in Kenya, we recommend arriving a day before the agreed-upon pick-up date to ensure a smooth transition to your program.

Orientation in Kenya:

Upon arrival at your base in Kenya, you will receive a comprehensive orientation program to prepare you for your volunteer experience.

Program Timetable in Kenya:

Our programs typically run 4 or 5 days a week, granting you weekends off to explore and immerse yourself in Kenya's rich history, culture, and attractions.

Accommodation in Kenya:

Volunteers will be accommodated in local homestays, providing full board (3 meals a day) in basic accommodation.

Upgrades to local hotel accommodation are possible at an additional cost.

Food in Kenya:

Local food will be served in the homestays

Safe Drinking Water in Kenya:

It's important to refrain from consuming tap water, and any water that is not from sealed bottles. To ensure safe drinking water for yourself, you should drink water from sealed bottles, and / or bring water purification tablets or a portable water filtering system.

Vaccinations and Health Precautions for Kenya:

Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirement for Kenya:

Only people travelling from countries in which Yellow Fever is endemic need yellow fever vaccinations, and certificated proof.

Protection Against Mosquito borne diseases in Kenya:

To safeguard your health while in Kenya, we recommend bringing a portable mosquito net, insect repellent, and any other measures recommended by your government's travel advisories to prevent mosquito-borne illnesses.
